Background and Education

Dr. Gordon completed his medical school training at the University of Southern California and attended residency training in General Surgery at Brown University. He further advanced his medical knowledge and experience with residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago, and achieved Fellowship status in the field of Emergency Medicine.

Educator

Dr. Gordon served as an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of North Carolina, where he also practiced Hyperbaric Medicine. After practicing Emergency and Trauma Medicine for 20 years, Dr. Gordon retired from his clinical practice to establish Mobile Hyperbaric Centers, an innovative delivery model for this critical healing therapy.

Dr. Gordon has been at the forefront in redefining the specialty of hyperbaric medicine, including expanding insurance carrier medical policy coverage, and promoting groundbreaking research in hyperbaric medicine.

An Exclusive Commitment to the Transgender Community

In 2020, Dr. Gordon’s group introduced the first of its kind multi-place hyperbaric oxygen therapy practice, exclusively committed to serving the transgender community. Based in Daly City, California, 8th Element Hyperbaric Medicine has transformed post-operative care for the transgender patient undergoing affirmation surgeries. HBOT not only speeds healing, but is exquisitely suited to rescuing the compromised flaps and grafts associated with these extraordinarily complex surgeries.

On a Personal Note…

In his free time, Dr. Gordon enjoys playing guitar in his band, woodworking, skiing and spending quality time with his family and friends.
